Submitting to your team

When you're satisfied with what you've captured, you submit it. A submission hands a batch of media to the downstream inventory team as one sealed transaction — from that moment those files are locked read-only, so the evidence the team works from can never change underneath them.

You can keep capturing after a submission and submit again as many times as you need. Each submission is its own numbered transaction.

Submit your media

  1. Open the assignment. When you have unsubmitted media you'll see a button like "12 media ready for submission" above the rooms list.
  2. Tap it and confirm. That's it — the batch is sealed and the button clears.

The count covers every photo, video, and audio clip in the assignment that isn't part of a previous submission, across all rooms.

NOTE

Everything must finish uploading first. A submission is a guarantee to the upstream team, so it can only include media that's safely Synced. While items are still uploading the button shows "Uploading M of N — submit when done" and stays disabled; tap View upload queue to watch (and unblock) the remaining items. You also need a connection to submit (capture itself never does).

What "locked" means

Submitted media shows a small lock badge in the grid. Locked items:

  • can't be deleted,
  • can't be edited — notes, tags, and item details are frozen,
  • can't be regrouped — the grouping you submitted is the grouping of record.

The rooms those items live in freeze too: a room containing submitted media can't be renamed, reordered, or deleted (it shows a lock next to its name). You can still capture new media into it.

Everything is still fully viewable. If something needs a correction after submitting, capture a new photo or add a new note-worthy item — it becomes part of your next submission.

The submission history

Once you've submitted at least once, the assignment shows a Submissions button. Each entry records the paper trail:

  • Submission # — the running number for this assignment (#1, #2, …),
  • when it was submitted,
  • how many media it sealed,
  • who submitted it,
  • a reference id the upstream team can quote,
  • and the items themselves — tap "View N media" to see exactly which photos, videos, and audio clips the transaction sealed (tap any to open it).

Assignment status

When every media in the assignment has been submitted, the assignment shows Submitted. Capture anything new and it flips back to Active — the status always tells the truth about whether unsubmitted work exists.

TIP

End-of-job routine: confirm everything is Synced, tap Submit, and glance at the Submissions screen. Thirty seconds, and the upstream team has a sealed, verifiable hand-off.

Next: Working offline & sync.

Mission-critical loss documentation. Offline-first. Nothing lost.
