Capturing media
This is the heart of the job: photos, video, and audio. The capture screen is built to be fast and forgiving so you can move through a property quickly.
Open the camera
From inside a room, tap the big Capture button. The full-screen camera opens with three modes:
| Mode | How to use it | Good for |
|---|---|---|
| Photo | Tap the shutter. Tap again for the next shot. | Most documentation. |
| Video | Hold the shutter, or tap to start/stop. | Walkthroughs, demonstrating damage. |
| Audio | Tap record, tap to stop. | Spoken notes, claimant statements. |
Switch modes with the selector above the shutter.

Rapid multi-shot
In photo mode you can fire shot after shot without leaving the camera — ideal for working a room fast. Each photo saves instantly to the current room.
What's stamped on each capture
Depending on what your admin enabled, captures can carry:
- Timestamp — the exact capture time.
- GPS — where it was taken.
- Watermark — a visible overlay (time, your name, location, a claim number,or a company logo).
You'll see a live preview of any stamps right in the camera, so there are no surprises. These make your documentation defensible — see Bulletproof documentation.
NOTE
The app always keeps the full-resolution original for the final report, and makes a lighter copy for fast on-device preview. You never have to think about quality settings — capture at full quality, every time.
Assign as you shoot
Captures land in the current room automatically. To keep angles of one item together, start or pick a group before shooting — the camera shows which group you're adding to.
Review and fix
Tap any item to:
- View it full-screen (zoom into photos, scrub video/audio).
- Add a note, tags, or details.
- Re-shoot if it's blurry, or delete a genuine mistake.
TIP
Blurry or dark? Re-shoot on the spot — it's far cheaper than a return trip. When unsure whether something matters, capture it. Storage is cheap; missing evidence is not.
Next: Groups & multiple angles.
